Kenneth “Kenny” Glenn Cole passed away on August 5, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on May 31, 1961, in Van Nuys, California, to William Manning Cole and Sharon Belle Cole, now Thompson. Kenny’s life took him to several communities throughout California, Texas, and Oklahoma. He lived in Van Nuys, California, from 1961 to 1964, Temple City, California, from 1964 to 1973, College Station, Texas, from 1973 to 1977, Altus, Oklahoma, from 1977 to 1979, and Weatherford, Oklahoma, from 1979 to 1983. He later made Norman, Oklahoma, his home, where he remained for the rest of his life.
During college, Kenny was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Kenny pursued a career in law and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma in 1986. Being an attorney was more than simply his profession. It was something he genuinely enjoyed and took great pride in. Throughout his career, he was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Oklahoma Association for Justice. In 2009, Kenny received the Tommy D. Frasier Award from the Oklahoma Association for Justice and was also recognized as the organization’s Member of the Year. Kenny was a relentless academic. He loved practicing law and sharing what he knew in order to make every lawyer better. His writing ability and expertise in his field made him a figure of great admiration in the legal world.
Outside of his career, Kenny enjoyed classic rock music and was an avid sports fan. He especially loved baseball and OU football. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, fishing, playing computer games, and spending time watching sports. Kenny believed in standing up for your values, working hard, and doing what is right for family and their wellbeing. Those who knew him could learn from his determination to stand firm in his convictions and his devotion to the people he loved. Above all else, Kenny loved his sons, Andrew and Zack.
Kenny is survived by his sons, Zachary Cole of Norman, Oklahoma, and Andrew Michael Cole of Bailey, Colorado; his mother, Sharon Belle Thompson of California; his siblings, Victoria Jeanne Richmond and her spouse, Scott Edward Richmond, of Riverside, California, Michael George Cole and his spouse, Sheryl Valentino Cole, of Moorepark, California, Julie Carole Mabini and her spouse, Caslo Mabini, of Virginia, and Jeannine Cole of Hesperia, California. He is also survived by four nieces and three nephews, Emily Ryan Richmond, Ashlyn Riley Richmond, Kristin Michelle Cole, Greyson Mabini, Even Reyes, Brady Leathers, and Kassidy Leathers. Kenny was preceded in death by his father, William Manning Cole. Kenny’s life was defined by hard work and love for his family. His dedication to his sons and his desire to protect and provide for those he loved will remain an important part of the legacy he leaves behind.
